Places We Go

The Non-Traditional Classroom includes field-trips just like any school. In fact, we can learn so much from anyplace we go. This page showcases some of the really exciting places. (We are new to homeschooling, therefore there aren't too many places yet)

HERITAGE PARK (CERRITOS): What an amazing place this is. Actually, it is more than just a park; it contains an island that transport you to Boston, MA, circa 1770. To read more about the park and see photos click here: http://newhomeschoolingmama.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-amazing-park.html

IRVINE REGIONAL PARK AND OC ZOO: This is a great "hidden jewel". There is so much to do at this park including a zoo with a $2 admission fee. There is also a fun, narrated train ride that travels through part of the park. The train ride is only $4 per person.

RILEY'S FARM: We went on a field trip to Riley's Farm with our homeschooling group. The children were able to have a hands-on experience and learn what it was like in the early colonial days: http://www.rileysfarm.com/
